Factors to Consider

Budget is one thing, but here are a few more factors you can consider while planning your next family vacay.

Proximity –  The first aspect you need to consider is the proximity of each location. Please keep in mind that these budgets don’t take into account your current location, so transportation costs like flights might cause a big dent in your budget. You could choose a location that’s closer to home and save on some transportation costs.

Rides offered – If you’re after a full theme park experience, Orlando might be the one. Universal Studios Orlando’s Wizarding World is much bigger with more rides your family can enjoy, for example, the infamous Hogwarts Express. On the other hand, Universal Studios Hollywood only has 2 rides and a walk through Hogsmeade.

Authenticity – There’s no denying that Studio Tour London offers the most authenticity compared to the other two choices. On the tour, you’ll visit actual sets and locations and relive all your favorite scenes from the movies!

Final Thoughts

While Universal Studios Orlando offers more thrilling rides, Los Angeles is more affordable. However, a visit to Warner Bros Studios in London or Japan gives you the most authentic experience, allowing you to relive all the beloved scenes from the movies. And as a bonus, it is the most affordable.

Regardless of your choice, all four vacation ideas are great for Harry Potter fans! Good luck planning and we hope you have a fantastic trip!

From Cubicle to Cancun: How Travel Influencers Say Goodbye to the 9-5 and Hello to Paradise – All While Earning Big!

First of all, what is an influencer?

An influencer, also known as a content creator, is someone who posts content on social media about their daily lives.

They have a following of people who support them and stay updated from their daily videos. The followers of influencers follow them because they are entertained, inspired, or invested in their lives, therefore growing a sense of trust in the influencer.

Thanks to the trust that they have earned from their social media when an influencer posts a product or service that they use and love, there is often a spike in sales from the people who follow them.

How do they get their start?

Like any job, you have to start at the bottom. Growing a following takes time and you have to earn your followers and the trust they have in you. Most influencers have been posting consistently for years, starting from 0 followers.

When starting to grow a following, you have to start by staying consistent and posting multiple times a day, creating engaging content that will inspire, inform, and entertain your audience. Influencers also have to choose a niche that they want to create content around. You should have a broad niche, such as travel, and a more specific niche inside of this, such as “luxury tropical destinations”, “budget backpackers”, or “long-term family travel”. Growing a social media page based around this more specific niche will help to gain followers who care about your specific lifestyle.

How do they earn income?

So travel content creators may have a lot of followers on social media, but how do they earn money from this? 9-5’s are a thing of the past, people can work remotely and have side hustles or main hustles. Some of the most prominent ways that travel influencers earn money are brand deals, the creator fund, and group trips.

Since the influencer has a following of people who support them, when they love a product or service, their followers are inspired to try the product or service as well. Companies will hire influencers to post about their brand on their social media. In the travel niche, common brands that are promoted include hotels and excursions. Smaller influencers will often start out sharing products or services in exchange for being able to receive a hotel stay or join an excursion for free but those with a larger following can earn thousands of dollars for their content.

The creator fund is where you are paid directly from TikTok or YouTube. The platform pays a small amount of money for each view that the video receives. When videos go viral, receiving millions of views, this adds up!

Group trips are becoming very popular in the travel content creator world. This is where a company that sells group trips will hire an influencer to “host” the trip. People who follow the influencer will book a spot in order to be able to experience traveling with the person they have grown to love through their videos. The influencer hosting the trip earns commission through each person who books as well as gets to join the trip at no expense.

Who are successful influencers?

To fully understand travel content creators, it is best to check out their pages for yourself!

A successful influencer in the “budget backpacker” niche is @yogirl_rin on TikTok. Rin does work exchanges around the world and posts her experiences online. She has grown a connection with her followers, inspiring many people to experience solo travel for the first time!

An example of a “family travel” page is @thebucketlistfamily on Instagram. This family with 2 young kids goes on adventurous travels all around the world sharing their experience of the highs and lows of living this lifestyle with young children.

Global Warming Could Ruin Your Summer Vacation. Here’s How You Can Save It!

Over the last year, global warming has been the star of the show, causing temperatures to skyrocket and set new world records. The entire world has been experiencing hotter-than-normal temperatures, making a mild summer turn scorching in a matter of weeks.

If you live in a hot area, you might want a vacation that will cool you off during summer.  Many are traveling to destinations with colder temperatures, which are referred to as coolcations. These creative getaways are designed to help you chill out during a sweltering heat wave. Here’s where you should travel this summer and fall to escape the heat.

Iceland

It is no surprise that Iceland has made our summer coolcations list since it has ice right in the name. Iceland is not frigid cold all year; in fact, summers are mild and beautiful. In July, which is the heart of summer, you can expect an average temperature of 10°C to 15°C or 50°F to 59°F.

The mild temperatures make marveling at waterfalls and hiking to black sand beaches much more enjoyable. You can even soak in one of Iceland’s many hot springs during the Midnight Sun, which takes place every June. Summer is a fantastic time to drive Ring Road, one of the best road trips in the world. It takes five to seven days in summer since the route will be snow-free.

Scotland

Jetset over to the United Kingdom to enjoy the breathtaking land of Scotland. Scotland is a perfect destination for a summer coolcation since its July temperatures are about 10°C to 20 °C or 50 °F to 68 °F.Spend your day admiring castles such as Stirling Castle and Urquhart Castle before hiking in the Scottish Highlands, which includes the infamous Isle of Skye’s Cuillin Mountains. If you are feeling adventurous, you can enjoy the mild temperatures on a boat tour of Loch Ness, where you can search for the iconic Loch Ness Monster.

Alaska

Alaska is known for being one of the snowiest and coldest places in the United States, but in summer, it shines. The average temperature in July is 15°C to 25°C, or 59°F to 77°F. Marvel at the mountains in Denali National Park, or take a scenic cruise to the massive Hubbard Glacier. If you love water sports, spend your coolcation kayaking the Prince William Sound or the Inside Passage without overheating. Alaska has so much to offer for a thrilling and scenic summer coolcation!

Switzerland

If you have ever wanted to visit the Swiss Alps, go in the fall. After a sunny summer, the country will still be free of snow, and the temperatures will start to cool down. You will travel there a few months before the tourist ski season, lowering the prices of accommodations. The average temperature in October is 5°C to 15°C or 41°F to 59°F, depending on your elevation. Visit Interlaken, where you can take a train to Jungfrau, also known as the “Top Of Europe,” before enjoying Swiss Fondue at one of the charming mountain restaurants. The temperature will be comfortable enough for a boat tour around Lake Geneva or to admire the massive Rhine Falls near Zurich.

Portugal

During the Fall, Lisbon’s temperatures range from 16°C to 23°C or 61°F to 73°F, which is perfect for exploring the São Jorge Castle and Belém Tower in Portugal. On an outdoor terrace, spend your evening devouring authentic Portuguese food, such as fresh seafood like Bacalhau, local cheese, and grilled meats. Portugal is also home to some of the world’s most delicious wine! Take a day trip to the Douro Valley, one of the world’s oldest wine regions, where you can sip wine in lush vineyards while enjoying the views.

The Greek Islands

Many travel to Greece in the summer to sunbathe on the scenic beaches of its many different islands. Fall is one of the best times to visit islands such as Santorini, Mykonos, and Crete. Not only will you be able to enjoy the off-season rates, but the weather is lovely during this time.

The average temperature of Santorini in October is between 17°C to 23°C or 63°F to 73°F. This is the perfect temperature for walking around the hilly city without being drenched in sweat when you reach your suite. You can also take ferries to island hop while enjoying the light breeze of the Aegean Sea.

When you are ready to escape during the next summer heat wave, you can easily choose one of these fabulous destinations for your coolcation. That way, you can chill out while having the time of your life!
